Operation Christmas Child

The amazing journey of a simple shoebox gift begins with you and results in evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication. From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Parents often use the project to teach their kids about giving. Drop the shoeboxes here at Golden Hills by November 25th.

Pastors around the world host shoebox distributions in places where people may not know Christ and invite them to follow Him. They also offer The Greatest Gift, a Gospel story booklet Samaritan’s Purse developed for shoebox recipients. As a result of what they learn in The Greatest Journey, boys and girls grow in Christ and share with friends and family. The students also invite others to their graduations where the Gospel is shared. This often brings parents, siblings, and friends to accept Christ and become active members in the local church. Families are reached, churches grow, new churches are started, and communities are transformed.

Operation Christmas Child VOLUNTEERS
We will be a central drop off center for all of Contra Costa County this year and need a team of volunteers on November 17th - 25th. We need a couple people each day who would like to greet and welcome people. We also need a couple people a day who will help load and unload boxes. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together, especially on the weekend. Younger than 16 years of age must serve with a parent.

On the final Sunday & Monday (Nov 18th + 19th) we need some strong guys and gals who can help load the cases of shoeboxes into the trucks. The other churches in Contra Costa County will be bringing their cases to us. We will need to count and load them into trucks to be taken to Southern California.
