Women’s Bible Studies Summer 2023
July 9, 2023 12:30 - 2:00pm | W241
The Bible is rich with narratives of women who were nurturers, welcomers, advocates, and teachers. These women, while some celebrated and others rarely remembered, were not just footnotes in God’s plan of redemption. They all were integral to setting the foundational message of hope and deliverance. These women and their experiences were intentionally included in the Bible; they reveal God’s heart for women, and they teach us from their noteworthy stories. God valued and viewed women in biblical times, and He sees us today as His precious daughters and co-laborers in gospel work. Maybe it’s a challenge for us to understand what their stories have to do with our modern context. But the same God that created them, gifted them, and loved them is the same God that has created, gifted, and loves us. The God that was faithful to Miriam in her loneliness in the desert, Naomi in her grief amid loss, and Hannah in her longing for a child, is faithful to you as well. God designed us to be compassionate, hospitable, courageously fierce, and capable educators.
Join us for Brave and Beloved, an 8-week Bible study that will help us dive deeper into biblical narratives of women: from Eve in the Garden to the Resurrection Witnesses. Through this inductive study and open discussion, we hope to deepen our own approach to studying the Bible. By seeing these great women of faith, we hope it will shape and elevate your understanding of God’s call on your life as a woman.
We will meet on Sundays from 12:30-2:00pm in Room W241, beginning July 9. Please pack a lunch, and join us for this study!
