Membership
Church Membership is a formal relationship between a church and a Christian, characterized by the church’s affirmation and oversight of a Christian’s discipleship and the Christian’s submission to living out his or her discipleship in the care of the church.
Baptism
“Baptism is a church’s act of affirming and portraying a believer’s union with Christ by immersing him or her in water, and a believer’s act of publicly committing him or herself to Christ and his people, thereby uniting a believer to the church and marking off him or her from the world.” —Bobby Jamieson, Understanding Baptism
Looking to become a member or get baptized?
Our Membership/Baptism class is for anyone who wants to explore the biblical importance of membership and baptism, as well as Golden Hills Community Church’s purpose, values, theological foundation, and history. This process is the first step into covenantal membership, which is the core of gathering as a Christian family. The Membership/Baptism class is normally 4-weeks long (Baptism is week 4), with new classes launching on the first Sunday of most months during the 10:30am service. This month we are having a 2-day, weekend version of the class.
