About Noshua
Mourning the Aftermath
This piece was created to give insight on a part of a longer story that began with a message from Nehemiah‘s brother Hanani, who informed him of the return of the captives from Jerusalem that they are in great trouble, and the gates and walls were torn down and destroyed by fire and Jerusalem. This teaches patients to persevere in times of grief and struggle. Nehemiah went to inspect the walls down to the Dung gate. The dragon well and to the Valley gate, which is what you see in the picture. Nehemiah was put in maroon clothing to really pinpoint the main character of this picture. There were other men there with him. For some of them it’s probably the first time viewing the gate. When Nehemiah was informed about the wall, being torn down the mourned and fasted which resulted in him going to inspect the wall himself!
Artist Bio
Noshua Nunley Jr. was born and raised in San Jose, CA, and will be 16 in November. Ever since he can remember, he’s been drawing a bunch of different things, characters, animals, and places. But really started by doodling with drawing swirls and silhouettes Drawing was just a pastime for Noshua for a while and would experiment in different drawing styles . As time went on he realized that it was more of a talent than it was just something to do. Not long after Noshua and his family moved from San Jose to Antioch. Their first Christmas there he was surprised with canvases and paint supplies, at the time he had just turned 10. He was excited to see what he could do with a paint brush. So, then he started to paint. Honestly, ended up being proud of himself and at the time was using watercolor, his progress started when doing acrylic paintings. Did really well with acrylic paintings and started getting into looking at all types. About a year later he entered a few art contests months apart and victory just made him more confident for the future. Now Noshua creates art pieces with a new level ability and understanding with a possibility to showcase his art in many places
