MSM Movie Night

Calling all Middle School students! Get ready for a movie night! Bring a friend and join us for a fun night! Bring your favorite candy; we’ll provide the popcorn!

Movie Selections(these will be voted on by the students):

• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (PG)
• Rio (G)
• The Sandlot (PG)

Although we want to enjoy time with our students, we also want to equip them as critical thinkers. There are many entertaining things that we engage in, but we have to realize that there is always an underlying message that is being communicated. This doesn’t mean we disengage from such things, but if we approach them with discernment, we can enjoy the good things while recognizing the areas that are not good. Movies are a great example of enjoyable things that can carry a counter-biblical message. Equipping our students to think critically will give them to ability to recognize the universal need, how the message gives a distorted solution, and how the Bible tells a better story and gives a better solution.
