Who Is Jesus? Class

The 12 disciples and the early Church struggled to figure out who Jesus was. The disciples first thought he was a man who was a rabbi. But when Jesus stilled a storm on the Sea of Galilee, they wondered, “What kind of man is this?” (Matthew 8:27). Eventually, both the disciples and the early church concluded Jesus was both a man and God’s Son. But the early church also had to wrestle with whether Jesus was equal to God, or a lower god. How did they come to their conclusions? And what about passages that say Jesus is “the only begotten son” (John 3:16), or, He is “the firstborn over all creation” (Colossians 1:15)?
